Steps to Fix When VPN Connects, Internet Gets Disconnected

Solution-1: Install Latest Version of VPN
- Click on the ‘Start’ icon to launch the start menu.
- Simultaneously press the Windows + R keys to open the ‘Run’ search box.
- In the ‘Run’ search box, type in following command ‘regedit’ and press Enter.
- Now, a User Account Control dialogue box will appear on your screen, click on the ‘Yes’ tab.
- After that, inside the ‘Registry Editor’ in the Computer folder, locate the following key and click twice on it:
- Then, in the ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE’, click twice on the ‘Software’ option, double-click on the ‘[your] VPN’ option.
- Next, right-click on the ‘[your] VPN’, press the ‘Delete’ tab.
Once deleted, you should not be able to see your VPN in the Wow6432Node.
However, still the VPN is scheduled as an accessible VPN connection even after uninstalling it, follow the mentioned steps:
- Hit the’ Start’ icon to launch the start menu.
- In the ‘Start’ menu, press the Windows + R keys to open the ‘Run’ command search box.
- Under the ‘Run’ command search box, type ncpa.cpl and hit the Enter key to navigate the ‘Network Connection’ window.
- Inside the ‘Network Connection’ window, right-click on the ‘WAN Miniport’ as [your] VPN.
- Finally, click on the ‘Delete’ tab to successfully delete it.
Solution-2: Uninstall and Reinstall VPN
- Click on the ‘Start’ menu to open it on the screen.
- Then, choose ‘Apps and Features’ option.
- Search VPN you want to uninstall and click on the ‘Uninstall’ button.
- Under the ‘Setup Wizard’ page, you will receive a notification popup on your screen after a successful uninstall. Then, press the ‘Close’ tab to exit the Wizard.
- After uninstalling, if the VPN is still showing, right click on the Start tab and choose the Run option to open the ‘Run’ command box.
- Under the ‘Run’ search box, type in ‘cpl’ and press the ‘Enter’ key to open the Network Connections window.
- Click on the ‘Delete’ tab to delete it.
- Again, click on the ‘Start’ tab and choose ‘Settings’ option.
- After that, click on the Network & Settings option.
- Choose VPN, and click on the ‘Delete’ to delete it from your Windows 10 device.
Once Deleted, reinstall the app and check if this works.
