How to Deactivate First Sign-in Animation on Windows 10

Windows 10 holds various interesting features and provides ample of dynamic qualities and updates. After every fresh update, edition change, etc., or if you need to create a fresh user account, the system flashes a sequence of messages on your device’s screen. It includes “Hi,” “This might take several minutes,” “We’ve got some updates for your device” etc. This series or notifications are called Sign in animations that occur on every system running on Windows 10.

These animations sometimes get annoying or frustrated, so users want to disable them on their system. When you deactivated the animation feature, the sign-in process will get slightly quicker than before. Using Registry Editor

Even, if you wish to use Group Policy Editor for Enterprise and Pro editions, then you can do so.
  • First of all, it is recommended to create a System Restore Point on your device for further back up if anything happens wrong. Though your system does this task automatically but creating it manually, is also a wise task.
  • Now, launch your Registry Editor tool by hitting Window + R keys to expand the Run dialogue box.
  • Next, insert the keyword “Regedit” into the provided space followed by entering.
  • Locate the under mentioned registry key by navigating to left-hand side section:
“HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE_\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft_\ Windows NT_\ Current_Version_\ Win_logon.”
  • In case, you are unable to view the particular key “Winlogon” just beneath the folder “Current_Version,” then apply right-click on it.
  • After that, hit the new tab there and after that tap on “Key.”
  • Next, provide a name to the key as “Winlogon.”
  • After that, apply right click on the folder Winlogon located at the left-hand side section and choose the “New” button.
  • Now, hit the DWORD Value (32).
  • Next, name the particular value “EnableFirstLogonAnimation.” Then, apply double click on it and set up the particular value to “0.”
  • Wait patiently for the fresh user Login process, but it doesn’t need to reboot or sign in again to save your modifications.
  • In case, you wish to see the login animations once again on your device, then go to the registry editor and set the digit value from 0 to 1. It will return to the previous process where the animation was flashing on your screen.
Downloading One-Click Registry Set-Up
If you don’t want to edit registry whenever you need to disable animation flashing function after updating or signing in your account, then install “Disable First Logon Animation Set-Up” on your device. To download the same set-up, then abide by the offered steps:
  • In the beginning, launch the “.zip” downloaded file on your device and look for the file “Disable First Logon Animation.reg” in the respective folder.
  • Once, you got that file, double click on it and confirmed all the information to add in that particular registry segment.
  • In case you wish to re-activate the particular animation on your device, then it is advised to hit the file “EnableFirstLogonAnimation.reg.”
Using Group Policy Editor Tool to Disable Animation on Enterprise and Pro Edition Windows
  • At the very start, open the “Group Policy Editor” tool by inserting “gpedit,msc” in the provided search box of Run dialogue prompt. Then hit the Enter button on your keyboard.
  • Go to the section “Computer Configuration” and then hit the “Admin Template” option there.
  • Next, hit the System tab and press the “Logon” button present on your screen.
  • Search for the set-up option “Show First Sign-in Animation” located at the right-hand side section of your page. Then apply double click on it.
  • Now, hit the deactivate related option for the ” Sign-In Animation” feature option.
  • Then, tap on the OK button to save your modifications.
  • Next, it is advised to exit from the Editor window to make your system to accept all the modifications. There is no requirement for rebooting and re-login into your account.
  • In case you wish to activate the feature once more, then double click on “Show First Sign-in Animation” and modify it to “Activated” to “Not Configured.”
