Apple Music to Integrate With Amazon Echo Starting December 17

The individuals who have subscribed to Apple Music will now be able to command Alexa to play tracks, playlists, artists and playlists. Amazon recently announced that Apple Music would be coming to the Amazon Echo devices in the next month, starting the week of December 17.

The Senior Vice President at Amazon Devices, David Limp said that they are devoted to presenting marvelous music providers to their consumers and subsequent to issuing the Music Skill API to developers last month; they have increased the music variety on their personal assistant to accommodate new popular services.

He also added that they were eager to launch Apple Music, which is one of the most popular music services in the country, to Echo devices owners this holiday season.

Once the new feature rolls out, Echo buyers will be able to tell Alexa to play song records using Apple Music. For using this function, one needs to connect their Apple Music account to the Alexa mobile app.

Moreover, Echo owners can now command Alexa to play the playlists especially hand-picked by Apple Music editors from all over the world. The playlists will be available for many activities and moods.

This new update will be published as an Alexa Skill. Once it rolls out, users can simply get the Apple Music Skill for their Alexa app. After they link their Apple Music account, they need just to say, "Alexa, play Bon Jovi from Apple Music."

Before this update, individuals who had subscribed to Apple Music were required to connect their phones to play music on the Echo smart speakers via Bluetooth. The playback couldn't be controlled over voice commands and had to be controlled from the mobile phone. When the Apple Music and Echo integration is done, users can command Alexa to play soundtracks without needing to depend on their smartphones.
