Apple WWDC 2020: Expectations & Rumors

Apple is all set up to lead the future technology
The tech giant, Apple, is set to unveil its next-generation technology at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 22. Apple uses the event held every year to showcase the latest technology and software it has developed. This year the event will be held in a digital form as the ongoing coronavirus outbreak has forced the companies to follow social distancing. The company will unveil the first look of its various next-generation technology such as tvOS, watchOS, iOS, and macOS. The company may use the event to announce its shift from processors based on Intel technology to ARM chips for its laptop and desktops.

Meanwhile, the developer conference is going to be held when the company is facing rigorous criticism from all sides. Apple has placed limitations on the applications of a third party on its tools recently. Also, It has introduced thirty and fifteen percent cuts for purchasing apps and selling subscriptions through the Apple stores. Besides, The European Union has started an antitrust investigation against the company. Many developers like  Epic Games, Spotify, and Match Group complained about the company regarding its policies. Amidst all, here is what we can expect from the company to announce at the conference.
iPadOS 14
iPadOS is an iOS-based device that emerged after splitting off from its iPad version. According to MacRumors new feature known as PencilKit has been introduced by the company in iPadOS 14. The new feature will convert handwritten notes or words into the standard text. Other changes that were rumored include Mouse support has already made its way with the release of iOS13.4.

The main focus of the conference is the annual updates related to iOS. The company is going to focus on the stability and performance in iOS14 rather than installing new features. According to 9to5Mac, the company is going to make substantial changes to the home screen of iOS. It will provide the users with a view of all the applications resembling Android on their devices. Also, these changes in the home screen will include multiple sorting options, such as Siri’s voice command. Besides, it is rumored that the company may introduce a setting for wallpaper that will loop in the applications of a third party for the first time.
Some Other Major Updates
Among other major updates, the company may allow third-party apps to be set as defaults on iOS instead of its alternatives. According to MacRumors, the company may introduce a new fitness app known as Seymour. A newly enhanced reality app, Gobi, is also in the news and can be released. It is rumored that iMessage may get some new tweaks and features such as @-mention and the option of retracting any message from the thread. Apple is also all set to launch a new car feature CarKey and Homekit. Apart from these, the company is working on releasing a new API, Clips, and improving Cloud keychain.
Some other features and apps that the company can introduce include WatchOS 7 with parental control features and a new Infographics Pro Watchface.  TvOS 14 will be released with the feature to track the Screen Time along with Kids Mode. The company will reveal MacOS 10.16  and New IMAC along with the brand new Apple TV 4K. Apple is also looking for ways to announce Apple AIRTAGS at the conference.
