El Camino (Breaking Bad): Walter White’s Death Confirmed

Breaking Bad has been among the highest-rated shows on IMDB ever since its release in 2008. The series was created by Vince Gilligan and is considered one of the best TV series of all time. Starring Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman), the story revolves around a school teacher who gets diagnosed with cancer. The events lead him to become a drug dealer and criminal as well. The series concluded way back in 2013, and there is a spin-off series by the name of Better Call Saul running currently.
Even though the story has concluded over six years ago, theories and hype surrounding it never indeed died. Recently the entire internet was astonished when it was revealed that a movie after the events of the show had been set to release. El Camino will be showcasing Jesse Pinkman’s run after he finally breaks through his imprisonment. There are rumors surrounding Walter’s role in the movie, but it seems like they are just rumors.
The official trailer for the movie dropped on Netflix’s official YouTube channel recently. The trailer more or less confirms the death of Walter White at the end of the series. The trailer was played during Emmy Awards 2019 as well, and Jesse is shown there to drive a vehicle, trying to run away. The radio in the car announces that when the police arrived on the scene, there were already nine male bodies present there. There is no random information provided in the Vince Gilligan universe.
Seeing how the trailer did not show off any significant detail, it is somewhat confirmed that the announcement was for the fans who expected Walt to return. The theories about Walt being alive have been floating ever since the season finale Felina aired. In the epic show finale, Walter drives into the Nazi gang. In the showdown he manages to kill off every single member of the group, resulting in Jesse’s freedom.
It allows Jesse to run away from the scene, but he first puts a gun on Walt’s head. After a climactic staredown, Jesse throws down the gun and runs away in a car. Walt is then shown to walk a bit, but after losing a substantial amount of blood, his vision finally fades. Vince Gilligan rarely puts any information by accident so it can be taken as a hint to the fans expecting Walt’s return.
However, this does not rule out his possible cameo in the movie, as Jesse does not seem to be in a stable condition. It is very likely that Walt will appear in Jesse’s hallucinations. It makes sense as Jesse and Walt have faced numerous achievements and mishaps together. Jesse has been with Walt from the first season, so it is evident that they were close to each other.
It would be interesting to see how the movie portrays Jesse after Walt’s death and the tragic events that Jesse endured. Rumors suggesting Krysten Ritter (Jane) return in El Camino have surfaced as well. This could be true in Jesse’s hallucinations as well. Whatever, the movie delivers; the hype and expectations surrounding it are substantial.
